Here's the problem I have with job postings... Most lack a cutoff date or any real indication of when they might get the ball rolling. So basically, once you apply for a job you remain in a state of limbo until they: A. Decide to contact you for an interview, or B. Wait until they have interviewed those they are interested in and then send you a form letter letting you know that you didn't make the cut. Either way, the waiting is almost unbearable. Just for kicks, here's a real life example: I applied for a job in mid March. A reasonable assumption would be that I would have heard back by now. Reasonable, maybe, but not realistic apparently. So, I wait... not even knowing if I am being considered. It's maddening. Oh, I guess I should cut them some slack. They probably don't take into account that someone might be hinging their future on the outcome of their decision. Even so, I feel like good communication is just common courtesy and an essential part of what this particular place is all about. Anyway, I'm frustrated and have a passionate desire, scratch that... a desperate need to get out of my current, very discouraging job. The worst part in all of this is that I would be good at this other job and maybe even get something back from being a part of it. Here's hoping.
